WONDERLAND! AUDITION

•  Come prepared to sing  their best 16 bars of an up-tempo memorized musical theatre song. Bring sheet music if required for pianist or cd with instrumental backing tracks.
•  Deb will provide in the audition selected scenes from the script and have them do a cold reading
• Be prepared to move and groove, so we can get a sense of your abilities for show choreography. 

Audition dates Jan 18  and    Jan 20 between 6-9 pm

and      Jan 21 between 1-4 pm.  Time slots must be pre-booked.

Show week May 20-27th at Galt Little Theatre in Cambridge
Auditions:  Jan. 18, 20, 21,  2012     Audition fee $10
Tuition $465 Leads (includes ~110 hours of rehearsal time, legal copy of the script, your costume, rehearsal cd, workshops from the Directorial team)

Tuition $365 Ensemble (includes ~60-70 hours of rehearsal time, legal copy of the script, your costume(s), rehearsal cd, workshops from the Directorial team)

Tuition for Extras $175 (includes rehearsal time in the last 4-6 weeks of production, script, costumes, rehearsal cd)
Rehearsals:   Jan.-May 2012 – Thursdays 6-9;  Sundays 1-5 pm;  a few Fridays 6-9 pm

Wonderland! is an unabashedly silly adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass.  With hip-hopping music, it is an upbeat, coming-of-age story that audiences of all ages will adore!  You’ll recognize some of your favorite familiar characters of Alice’s Wonderland along with meeting dozens of new ones:  a baseball team, a gospel group called The Responsibilities, a train conductor, star-struck tourists, plastic light-saber wielding knights and much more.  With minimal set requirements, the play can be performed on a bare stage with suggested set changes, or the production can be as huge as your imagination and budget allow.  An eclectic mix of music that ranges from gypsy swing to doo-wop to bluegrass will have your audiences grinning like a Cheshire cat!  You’ll love the toe-tapping musical renditions of “Jabberwocky” and “The Walrus and the Carpenter” as well as other great numbers such as “Anything’s Possible,” “Step by Step” and the hysterical “I was a Good Egg But Then I Done Went Bad,” sung by Humpty Dumpty and the Dixie Chickens!

Join us Saturday, January 14th from 10 am-3 pm to learn more skills and preparing for an audition.  $30.00 for the day.

KWCDW Annual General Meeting  Sunday, February 12 4:00 pm  65 Noecker St Waterloo  VOLUNTEERS are needed positions available:  Board of Directors 3 elected positions (Treasurer, Secretary, Marketing Manager) plus  Committee members for sets, props, grants, fundraising, marketing etc.  We are accepting applications for volunteers who would like to donate their talents and skills on the Board or committees must be received by January 15, 2012 info@kwchildrensdrama.org
