Our Mandate
The KW Children’s Drama Workshop is dedicated to providing an excellent learning experience for children aged three to 16 years of age. Experiences with theatrical arts helps to enhance self-confidence/esteem, self-discipline, poise, people interaction, creative thought, time management skills, public speaking skills, memorization skills, focus, team effort skills and other essential skills that will help throughout a lifetime.
Our History
Established & founded in 1995.
Originally started as a children’s drama program with a local community association, the K-W Children’s Drama Workshop has been in existence since 1995. Our goal is the same today as it was then – to help children/youth learn drama by experiencing & performing drama.
In 2000, the K-W Children’s Drama Workshop expanded to serve the entire region as an Registered Non-profit Charitable Organization which is led run a volunteer Board of Directors. The group has now presented over 34 full scale plays/musicals/comedies and continues to offer several classes and workshops to area children/youth.
Since June 1, 2009 Deanne (Dee) Bingleman has led the organization under the title of Artistic Director/Office & Programs Manager.
We are now heading into our 17th Season. This upcoming season will feature 11 on going classes each term, multiple workshops in dance & stage combat, PD Day Workshops, March Break and FULL Summer Day Camps plus 3 full scale productions A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Dec 2011); LION,WITCH & the WARDROBE with JAMES & THE GIANT PEACH (Feb-Mar 2012) and WONDERLAND & SNOW WHITE(May 2012) which will feature children/youth actors from the Region.
